Welcome to Meaningful Minds of Louisiana

Meaningful Minds of Louisiana is the statewide Behavioral organization that is contracted and sponsored by Office of Behavioral Health to advocate and provide programs and activities for citizens in Louisiana with substance abuse, additive and mental disorders .  As a non- profit organization we are committed to our mission statement:  “ to advocates for communication, education and leadership enhancing self empowerment for independent opportunities.” 

 

As an advocacy organization we  are actively involved  with legislative changes for the betterment of citizens in the Behavioral Health disorders.  Other activities include:

·       sponsored three suicide prevention summits

·       an annual conference

·       4 statewide trainings on trauma,

·       maintain 8 chapters around the state,

·       conduct a women and men support group at the Lafayette Parish Jail,

·       promote and register members to vote

·       work in the community to bring awareness of wellness and recovery to eradicate stigma

 

Please note that we use the term " consumers/survivor" because it is currently the most widely accepted terminlogy.  We recognize and respect that others may identify themselves otherwise.

The CAFÉ TA Center is a program of The Family Café, a cross-disability organization that has been connecting individuals with information, training and resources for more than twelve years.
